Pierre Baudracco elected Chairman of the Open Source Hub

[Systematic Paris-Region press release]

At its Executive Board meeting on 11.10, Systematic Paris-Region elected Pierre Baudracco as President of its Open Source Hub.
Pierre is founder and chairman of the publisher of the BlueMind open source messaging solution, the alternative to MS Exchange and 365, and has been involved in the open source ecosystem and Systematic for many years. It is a pleasure to welcome him to this position to lead the cluster’s open source dynamic.

📍 The President’s roadmap

The Open Source Hub has set itself the primary objective of federating the entire Open Source ecosystem and is pursuing its initial mission of promoting, in France and Europe, all the industrial and academic players in Open Source.

The issues supported by the Hub are multiple and intersecting between business and innovation, academic and technological communities, producers, suppliers and consumers, employment and training, and are ultimately European.

𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 is one of Systematic’s 7 Deep Tech Hubs, with a distinctive feature: it is a means to an end, not an end in itself!
As such, it has a cross-cutting and collaborative vocation with the other Hubs that carry the technological challenges around AI, cybersecurity, IoT, cloud development and infrastructure platforms, 5G technologies, biometrics, quantum platforms…

📍 Taking into account and distinguishing between the 2 contexts of use of Open Source (as tools and technological building blocks to build one’s systems or as an end-user solution) is a challenge to clarify realistic Open Source approaches, expectations and business models depending on the context.

An additional strength in the Hub’s ambitions

to strengthen relations with all the hubs, contacts, partners and organisations, such as CNLL, numeum, Cigref, OW2, Eclipse Foundation, or the public authorities
continue to federate and promote the industry through national and international studies and events such as the Open Source Experience
highlighting integrators by encouraging the emergence of Open Source and standards-based technology foundations and building blocks
supporting software publishers in the development of sovereign solutions.
