BlueMind, the European and sovereign enterprise collaborative messaging solution, is working with Zoom to enable existing and future customers to integrate their solution with the Zoom platform. This new offering enables customers to work on a day-to-day basis with tools that they have chosen and that they are used to using.

Zoom and BlueMind have worked together to simplify the user journey, which is key for both companies. Indeed, both are constantly seeking to innovate in order to meet their customers’ needs, and even anticipate them.

Zoom and BlueMind began working together in response to a specific need for web and room multi-videoconferencing on the part of a BlueMind customer. This initial approach proved to be a sound one, with the teams from the two companies working together to devise a simple, effective pathway to productivity gains for the companies that choose them.

To simplify the user experience, it is now possible to automatically plan and create a Zoom conference from the BlueMind agenda. BlueMind’s API integration with the Zoom platform makes it easy to create a Zoom invitation from the BlueMind interface. This is just the beginning, as BlueMind and Zoom are also planning, in time, to be able to book a Zoom Room-type videoconferencing system.

“BlueMind has always made the user experience its main concern,” explains Pierre Baudracco. “Allowing users to plan and manage a Zoom conference directly from their BlueMind diary in just one click, without having to switch applications, considerably simplifies the organisation of online meetings for Zoom users. In this way, we are offering a smoother user experience with one of the leading ‘real-time’ collaboration solutions. A successful first step towards further integrations with Zoom.”

Pierre Baudracco, BlueMind’s CEO

For its part, Zoom is delighted with this collaboration, which will provide a simple solution for planning and organising online meetings from the BlueMind platform.

Indeed, BlueMind offers all the collaborative features in an open source solution designed around user satisfaction. Because email is the tool most used every day in the professional world, BlueMind enables companies to break free from the stranglehold of giants such as Microsoft, 365 or Gmail.

BlueMind is the only natively Outlook-compatible solution on the market, with support for Thunderbird, which is boosted by collaborative working, and mobile devices… with BlueMind, digital sovereignty is finally compatible with user habits. In 2023, BlueMind will be one of the French companies selected as part of France 2030’s call for “Cloud-based collaborative office suites” projects, the aim of which is to accelerate the scaling-up of collaborative office suites in France.

“By integrating Zoom into the BlueMind diary, we are offering a simple and effective solution for improving user productivity. We are convinced that this integration reinforces our commitment to providing innovative solutions to improve remote communication and collaboration”, says François Familiari, SE Manager Southern Europe for Zoom. “Working with the teams at BlueMind is motivating because, like us, they are focused on customer satisfaction and on making their daily lives easier. We know that we’re just getting started and that we’ll be creating new synergies together.”

BlueMind and Scality partner to offer European organizations a sovereign, secure enterprise email service as an alternative to Microsoft 365 email and Gmail

PARIS – June 7, 2023 – BlueMind, a European leader in open-source enterprise collaborative messaging, and Scality, a global leader in reliable, secure and sustainable data storage software, announced today their official partnership to offer an object storage solution for enterprise email that can scale.

Storing a single email may only occupy a few kilobytes of space on a hard disk drive but the increasing and widespread use of messaging and the management of very large numbers of users require significant and growing storage space. As a result, the total emails stored by a BlueMind platform can require several hundred terabytes of data storage! Managing this storage space presents real challenges for the IT infrastructure, in addition to the issues of maintenance and backup.

The latest major version of BlueMind already made it possible to take advantage of object storage to manage very large volumes of e-mails via Software-Defined Storage (SDS). The upcoming major version of BlueMind, currently undergoing validation, will offer a native design and management of object storage. The scale-out functionality of Scality RING, means BlueMind can help customers manage petabytes of emails with a reliable, software-defined solution. Now customers have limitless flexibility and growth. Organizations can now store messaging in a highly protected environment that consolidates and reduces capacity requirements up to 40%.

“The messaging domain is uncompromising in terms of performance and volumes. We are delighted to work with Scality to offer the best in storage for BlueMind messaging. This collaboration allows us to offer a robust, scalable storage solution, in line with the challenges of digital sovereignty that drive us, while offering a fluid and intuitive user experience.”

Pierre Baudracco, CEO of BlueMind

“Working with BlueMind allows us to offer a high-performance, secure, cost-effective messaging solution for businesses and public institutions. Collaboration tools are essential for the competitiveness of companies and the efficiency of public services. With BlueMind and Scality, each organization can now benefit from world-renowned European technologies to keep data secure and sovereign.”

Jerome Lecat, CEO of Scality

The BlueMind-Scality integrated solution is now available in France and across Europe. Interested companies can contact the BlueMind team to find out more.

BlueMind implements OpenID Connect

OpenID Connect (OIDC) is an authentication and authorization protocol based on OAuth 2.0. It links the authentication of two distinct applications to allow users of one application to automatically log in to third-party applications that do not share the same user base.

For BlueMind, this allows a user to access an external service directly from their messaging application, without the need to authenticate again in the external service.

Among the first available connectors are Cisco Webex and Zoom. The Cisco Webex connector, for example, allows users to schedule and start a Webex video conference directly from their BlueMind messaging application without having to enter their Webex login credentials every time.

OpenID Connect allows BlueMind to interface with many applications and offers several advantages!

  • Enhanced security: OIDC uses advanced security standards, such as JSON Web Tokens (JWT), to ensure the authenticity of the user and protect sensitive user information against malicious attacks.
  • Simplified authentication: With OIDC, users can log in to a third-party service without having to re-enter their login credentials.
  • Easy integration: OIDC is designed to easily integrate with other services and applications, making it easier to implement single sign-on (SSO) and centralized user management.
  • Improved user experience: Authentication with OIDC offers a smooth and uninterrupted user experience, as users do not need to enter their login credentials every time they access a third-party service.
  • Standardization: OIDC is an open standard, widely adopted by the industry and supported by many vendors, making it easier for interoperability and integration between different systems.

In a nutshell, the implementation of OpenID Connect in BlueMind provides users with a standard, convenient, and secure authentication solution for accessing third-party applications such as Webex and Zoom.

These applications also benefit from functional integration in BlueMind, allowing users to easily schedule and organize video conferences directly from their messaging application. This allows users to work more productively and efficiently using a single and consistent working environment.
